- Petronas Towers or Petronas Twin Towers are the most popular tourist attraction not only in Kuala Lampur but in Malaysia too. These were the world’s tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004. They are still the tallest twin buildings in the world.
- Petronas Towers were named after Petronas which is the national oil-company of Malaysia and is currently owned by Malaysian government. The Petronas oil company is the main occupant of the towers.
- Petronas Tower II is home to many great companies’ offices i.e., Huawei Technologies, Boeing, Reuters, Microsoft, IBM, Aljazeera English, Bloomberg, HCL Technologies and many others.
- The towers were built by two different construction consortiums because they had to meet the deadline of 6 years. So, Tower I was built by the Hazama Corporation of Japan while Tower II was built by the Samsung Engineering and Construction which was a Korean company.
- Each tower has 10 double decker lifts and each lift can carry total 52 people. The towers also have 29 double decker elevators.
