Remember the Titan (pun intended)? One of the first Cherry Mobile phones (the other was the Flare) that heralded the way for other dual-SIM, dual-core, budget smartphones? Well, here’s the successor to it, Cherry Mobile’s new 5-inch Droid, the Hyper.
Spec-wise, the Cherry Mobile Hyper won’t wow you but for its Php4,999 price tag? That’s good enough for most people. Just for comparison, the CM Titan retailed for Php6,499 when it came out last November so the Hyper’s P5k tag is a good deal.
The Cherry Mobile Hyper is almost the same as the Titan. It has the same 5-inch WVGA screen, same 4GB storage, 512MB RAM, 5-megapixel camera with flash, and VGA front cam.
The only main difference aside from the design would be its slightly better 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is the same as their Flame and Flare, and its lower battery rating (2000mAh vs 2350mAH).
It still runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich while the Titan just got its Jelly Bean update recently. Anyway, the big deal here would still be the Php4,999 price tag which is really hard to ignore.
What do you think?
