How much does an additional 512MB RAM cost on an Android phone? Well according to Cherry Mobile, it’s P500 more and that’s what the Flare 2X offers.
Don’t like phones with 512MB RAM any more such as the recently released Php3,999 CM Flare 2.0? Well Cherry Mobile just released the Flare 2X which almost has the same specs but with a 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera and a slightly different look.
The Cherry Mobile Flare 2X still has the same 4-inch WVGA display, same 1.2GHz quad-core processor, same 4GB internal storage, and almost the same 1,500mAh battery (it’s 1,550mAh for the Flare 2.0).
It’s hard to understand why Cherry Mobile still released the Flare 2.0 when the Flare 2X was just around the corner. Surely people are more likely to pay an additional P500 for the benefits of having a 1GB RAM on an Android 4.1 device. I guess sub-P4k is still the sweet spot for consumers who don’t care much about RAM.
Anyway, according to a post on the Cherry Mobile SM North EDSA Facebook Page, the Flare 2X is on a limited run and retails for Php4,499.
