Over at the Mobile World Congress 2013, Nokia announced their new mid-range Windows 8 phone in the form of the Lumia 720. This phone sits between the already-released Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 and should appeal to the young and design-savvy crowd.
The Nokia Lumia 720 sports a 4.3-inch ClearBlack curved Gorilla Glass 2 display on a polycarbonate unibody for that almost seamless look.
What clearly sets this apart from other midrange phone is its high-end camera. It has an incredible f/1.9 aperture which is unheard of for a midrange handset and this allows more light to get into the Carl Zeiss optics for good low-light shots. Perfect for those who like to take photos indoors like in parties.
The front camera on the other hand, uses 1.3-megapixel wide-angle lens that should work well for Skyping with the whole family.
As for internals, the Lumia 720 uses a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage with room for a microSD slot.
Other notable features include NFC, optional wireless charging covers, and HD voice with noise cancellation (in case local carriers will eventually support it). Battery on this phone tops at 2000mAh which should net you around 13.5 hours of talk time.
No news yet as to when it will be available here but it will start rolling out globally in March for about USD330 (around Php13,500) and comes in red, white, cyan, black and yellow.
