Earlier today we saw Sony’s top-of-the-line Android smartphones, their Xperia Z and it’s little twin brother, the Xperia ZL.
The Sony Xperia Z is an Android Jelly Bean phone with a 5-inch screen sporting a Full HD resolution and all the groovy picture technology you can get from a Sony phone. It has a monolithic design with subtle rounded corners and a glossy non-removable back panel which suits this waterproof, dustproof and shockproof phone.
A unique design element here is the Power/Sleep button located dead center on the right side along with the volume rocker. The microSIM slot is located on the covered port on the left side which also houses the microSD slot. Beside it is the covered microUSB port and also the exposed contact points to work with a charging dock.
Under the hood of the Xperia Z you’ll find a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip along with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It’s also equipped with a 13-megapixel Exmor R mobile camera at the back and a 2.2-megapixel in front and both capable of Full HD video recording.
The Sony Xperia ZL, on the other hand, is just a more compact version of the Xperia Z and doesn’t have that weatherproofing body. It has a textured back with a covered space for the SIM and microSD.
The Sony Xperia Z and ZL will be available in the Philippines by April. The Xperia Z will retail forPhp32,900 while the Xperia ZL will go for Php29,900. Both phones have LTE support by the way.
