Samsung launches F8000 LED Smart TV, brightest picture around

Over at the 2013 Samsung SEA Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, Samsung launched their F8000 LED Smart TV which offers a brighter, more vibrant picture, with deeper black levels and higher contrasts.

The Samsung F8000 LED Smart TV features an ultra-thin design with an almost borderless look and has a wave-inspired Arc stand that makes the TV appear to be floating in air. This TV is also among Samsung’s line of Smart TVs equipped with Intelligent Viewing which is somewhat similar to Auto Settings on digital cameras. The TV is smart enough to optimize picture quality based on the type of content you’re viewing whether it’s a movie, a sports video, news, etc.

The F8000 is also Samsung’s first TV to feature a quad-core processor resulting to faster internal processing speeds for smoother operations. This 2013 line of Samsung Smart TV now has 300 voice commands with improved language recognition rates. It is now capable of understanding full sentences and natural language. New gestures are now also available allowing users to rotate images and zoom in and out of photos.

Samsung also revamped the cluttered UI of their Smart TV. There are now Smart Hub panels (similar to a smartphone’s homescreens) to segregate Apps, Photos, Videos an Music, and Social. More cloud storage has also been integrated into the TV. Previously it was just SugarSync but now Dropbox and Skydrive has been included for you to view contents from your online storage accounts straight from the TV.

These new software updates are also included in an Evolution Kit which can be used to upgrade Series 7, 8, and 9 2012 Smart TVs. It will roughly cost around P10k – P15k but also transforms your old set’s dual-core CPU to quad-core.

Going back to the F8000, it will be available soon in 55”, 60”, 65”, and 75” class screen sizes.
