Is your PC taking more time to boot up than it really should? You even added more RAM or swapped your CPU, but neither seemed to help? Then you’re probably looking at the wrong places, because it might be the truckload of startup programs causing the issue, and it’s time to step up and get it resolved once and for all. Anvi Startup Booster is a Windows application that can monitor and disable programs that automatically launch during Windows logon. It allows you to quickly toggle startup applications, services and network settings on the fly. Boasting an attractive design, the application calculates your system boot time and presents an intuitive UI to disable non-required startup items to cut down on the system boot time.
When launched, Anvi Startup Booster begins calculating Windows boot time automatically. It detects items that you can disable to optimize the performance. The Home screen of the app presents an expandable list of startup programs, services, and system as well as network settings. In addition, the total number of items in each category is also displayed. Although Startup Booster scans boot time on its own, you can recalculate it by clicking Rescan. When the application finishes examining the processes and services, you can mark the required components from the list and hit Boost to let Startup Booster do the rest.
An optimization screen pops up, telling you about the total number of items that were processed to minimize the boot time and displays how many seconds were chopped out in all. During testing, I couldn’t notice a significant difference in boot time though, but that’s probably because I didn’t have many entries that particularly take up a huge amount of time on boot.
The application also allows you to enable/disable startup programs selectively from the Startup tab. This feature is extremely handy in a sense that you don’t need to rescan all the items every time a program’s startup entry needs be enabled or disabled. The number of programs (total, disabled and enabled) is also displayed along the status bar at the bottom. Likewise, the Services tab lets you to disable non-required services and network settings instead of doing the same from Windows’ own Services console. The application displays the current status of each service as running or stopped.
If you want re-enable all or multiple startup items, you can do so in one go as well, thanks the Restore tab. This simply means you won’t need to restore each program individually; you are just required to mark the items that you want to enable, and click the Restore button at the bottom.
All in all, it’s a feature-rich startup manager that works on all Windows operating systems including XP, Vista, 7 and 8. Testing was done on Windows 8 Pro, 64-bit OS edition.
