Sennheiser launches two new top-of-the-line headphones, the IE800 and Momentum
Sennheiser recently launched 2 of their latest mouthwatering, eargasmic ‘phones, The IE800 and the Momentum. We got an invite for a private listening party at the Sedo Hotel in BGC. Sennheiser talked about their $999 IE800 and the amount of technology packed into the IEM’s 7mm driver and the Momentum’s heavenly comfort and sound quality.
The IE800 packs one of the smallest transducer in the IEM space. With only 7mm of diameter, it promises distortion-free sound and is capable of performing at high sound pressure levels. It comes with a hefty price-tag though but being a circumaural/over-the-ear kind of guy, I liked the sound space given by the IE800 but the bass can definitely be brought down a little more.
Dynamic linear-phase driver with extremely wide bandwidth (XWB)
Very low overall harmonic distortion
Ergonomic, oval-shaped ear adaptors for maximum comfort
Two protective meshes – one situated in the ear cushion and one in the cone, effectively protects against dirt contamination and for easy cleaning
Attenuated dual-chamber absorber (D2CA)
Extremely deep, distortion-free bass
Premium leather carrying case
2 year warranty
Sennheiser ups the ante with the new Momentum. The pads on the earcups are like pillows for your ears. They’re so comfortable it even feels like that you’re not wearing anything. This one packs the “beauty and brains” of the Sennheiser brand with the use of high-performance neodymium drivers. Did I mention that it that it’s designed with mobile users in mind? It comes with an additional cable with integrated remote and microphone for on-the-go music listening.
